Visiting Abuja

Abuja is a planned city, and it rewards a bit of planning back. It is spread out, the districts each feel different, and a lot of what makes it enjoyable is not on a landmark list — it is a restaurant in Wuse II, a Sunday at Jabi Lake, a drive out to Zuma Rock, a festival you happened to be in town for.

Everything on this site is organised around those decisions. Start with whichever one you are making now.

Our practical information page covers the essentials before you fly, and the FAQ answers what travellers ask us most: budgeting, transport, safety, connectivity and what to expect on arrival.

For longer reads — a first weekend, where to base yourself, day trips out of the city — the Travel Blog is where those live.
