Who Writes This
How VisitAbuja is put together, and what you can hold us to.
VisitAbuja is an independent guide to Nigeria’s capital. It is not run by a government agency, a tourism board or a hotel group, and nobody has to approve what goes on it.
That independence is the whole point, so this page sets out how the guide is made and where its money comes from. If any of it stops being true, this page changes.
Who is behind it
VisitAbuja is written and photographed by a small team based in Abuja, working with contributors around the city. We are travellers, residents and photographers rather than a press office, and the guide is written in the voice of people who actually live here.
How places get on the site
Places are chosen because we think a visitor would be glad to know about them. Nobody buys their way onto a recommendation list, and no listing is removed because a business asked us to remove it.
Some listings and features are paid partnerships. Where that is the case it is labelled, every time, and the standard of the writing does not change. Our advertising disclosure explains exactly how that works.
How we check things
Opening hours, prices, transport details and event dates change quickly in Abuja, and a guide is only useful if it keeps up. We check details against the venue’s own channels before publishing, and we correct pages when something moves, closes or changes hands.
We do not publish a phone number, an address or a price we cannot stand behind. Where something is uncertain, we say so rather than guessing.
When we get it wrong
We will get things wrong. Something will have closed, a price will be out of date, a name will be spelled the way we heard it rather than the way it is written.
If you spot something, tell us and we will fix it and say thank you. Corrections are not a favour you are asking of us — they are how the guide stays worth reading.
