Places to Stay in Abuja

Your perfect stay starts here

Whether you are planning a family holiday, a romantic escape, or travelling for work, Abuja offers a stay for every kind of journey. From sophisticated city hotels to peaceful garden retreats and lakeside hideaways, comfort here comes with greenery, space, and warm Nigerian hospitality.

For a classic luxury experience, choose landmark properties such as Transcorp Hilton in Maitama, Fraser Suites in the Central Business District, Abuja Continental in Wuse Zone 4, or The Envoy on Diplomatic Drive. Expect elegant rooms, inviting pools, exceptional dining, and easy access to the heart of the capital.

Prefer something quieter? Escape to The Wells Carlton in Asokoro, where refined surroundings offer a peaceful retreat from the city. For a more relaxed waterside stay, head to The Pearl Jabi Lake or BON Hotel Pearl Jabi Lake, both offering contemporary comfort beside one of Abuja’s most scenic neighbourhoods.

Staying a little longer? Abuja also has luxury serviced apartments, including Fraser Suites’ furnished residences, which range from studios to spacious four-bedroom penthouses.

Getting Around Abuja

How the city moves

Abuja is a spacious, well-planned city, and most journeys are easiest by car. Its districts are connected by broad roads, although hotels, restaurants, and attractions can be spread across different parts of the capital.

Ride-hailing and private cars

Uber and Bolt are among the simplest options for visitors, offering airport pickups, estimated fares, driver details, and trip-sharing features. Many hotels can also arrange private cars and professional drivers.

From the airport

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is located outside central Abuja. The journey into the city usually takes around 35 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic and your destination. A prearranged transfer is recommended for late-night arrivals.

Taxis, metro and buses

When using a taxi without a meter or booking app, agree the fare before starting your journey and carry some naira for fares, tips and parking. The Abuja Metro connects the airport with selected parts of the city, though services may run to a limited timetable.

Walking around Abuja

Abuja is best explored district by district. Wuse, Maitama, Jabi and the Central Business District each offer walkable clusters, but the city as a whole is not designed to be covered on foot.
